Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Suspension of terms pending before the Italian Patent & Trademark Office

Due to stricter measures to curb Covid-19, the Italian Patent & Trademark Office – UIBM – suspended all outstanding deadlines from February 23 to May 15, 2020, with the exception of the terms for the Appeals before the Appeal Board. These deadlines are thus postponed to May 16, 2020. Nevertheless, PCA remains active and we believe to take advantage of this only where strictly necessary.

Moreover, industrial property rights lapsing between January 31 and May 15, 2020 will be valid till June 15, 2020.
