Argentina is moving toward a major overhaul of its IP system following the signing of the U.S.–Argentina Agreement on Reciprocal Trade and Investment (ARTI) on February 5, 2026. The country has committed to joining key international treaties—including the PCT in 2026 and the Madrid and Hague Systems by 2027—and to modernizing patentability criteria and enforcement mechanisms. These reforms are set to align Argentina with global IP standards and create a more predictable environment for innovators and rights holders.
