From September 27, 2026, amendments will come into force aimed at penalizing misleading information on environmental issues. For our purposes here, misleading environmental claims are punishable, consisting in any message or representation in any form, including text, images, or trademarks, that suggests a positive impact that does not exist. Other untrue claims include promises of future or unprovable positive environmental performance and the advertising of irrelevant benefits (e.g., gluten-free water).
