Porta & Consulenti Associati S.p.A., in short PCA, is an Italian IP firm focusing on the practice of Intellectual Property.

Founded in 1991 and based in Milan, PCA has been offering technical-legal advice for many years to national and international clients for a better exploitation and a more effective protection of exclusive rights.

PCA is recognized as a leading Italian and European Intellectual Property Firm and achieves this goal thanks to the unmatched educational background of its attorneys and of the whole staff. PCA strives to provide the best client representation through a strong technical experience and a clear and open communication. PCA’s activity worldwide is guaranteed by an extensive network of foreign associates selected through years of international cooperation.

The understanding of the vital role played by a comprehensive Intellectual Property protection and enforcement strategy completes the PCA’s profile.

PCA understands the important role played by Intellectual Property in the economic life of a company and contributes to improve the development of the clients' products, services, inventions and business. PCA’s attorneys have a substantial experience in working with the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the European Patent Office (EPO), the various national Patent and Trademark Offices and the San Marino Patent and Trademark Office (USBM). They are able to approach the clients’ problems from a global viewpoint in order to completely solve them appropriately and quickly, even those problems which the clients themselves may not have seen or may not have fully evaluated.

Currently PCA is comprised of 11 attorneys who are able to manage autonomously the tasks with which they are entrusted and operate to a high professional standard, in accordance with their background, qualifications and continuing education. In addition, the legal skills, training and experience of PCA’s attorneys enable them to design and implement legal strategies in order to protect the essential innovation and health of client's businesses. PCA thus helps clients to identify the appropriate form(s) of protection for their assets/portfolios, whether it is a patent, design, copyright, trademark, domain name, licence, or a combination thereof. In addition, PCA’s attorneys usually act as Technical Experts in Court assisting the clients in the various stages of litigations against third party claims/actions and have a strong experience as teachers in courses related to the Intellectual Property.

PCA works as a unique partner of national and international companies in any Intellectual Property issue, with a particular focus on the strategical and economical analysis/planning of IP portfolios, by providing the most effective claims and defenses in all countries.

On client’s request PCA is available to arrange meetings and workshops on Intellectual Property matters, thus providing them with its own technical-legal know how.

PCA provides assistance to the client in requesting Customs to prevent the entry of goods infringing client’s rights into the Italian and European Community market.
